Children who learn in a climate of respect for Maori and other culture’s values will develop into New Zealand citizens who are comfortable, confident, happy and proud of their heritage.

Purposes

We will:

  • Fulfill the intent of the Treaty of Waitangi.
  • Ensure that the curriculum reflects Maori perspectives.
  • Provide opportunities for Maori children so that they can retain and grow in their language and the knowledge of Tikanga Maori.
  • Raise community awareness and understanding of the Maori programme.
